For those who would like to participate in a countryside pursuit while staying at Kincraig Castle, you have the chance to bask in all the Highlands' glory and experience some of the most beautiful wildlife that this stunning part of Scotland has to offer.

We’re perfectly situated close to some of Scotland’s best estates.  For shooting enthusiasts, we have a close relationship with the Highland Shooting Centre near Lairg where they have a specially designed 100 metres Indoor Shooting Range to simulate deer shooting which is the only one of its kind in Scotland. They also offer several activities for shotgun shooters of all abilities, including a Down-The-Line (DTL) layout, sporting clays and simulated game days, as well as 1:1 tuition. For the more serious shooter, they also have access to some excellent deer stalking and wild bird game shooting on neighbouring Estates.

Interested in fishing? We have Stoneyfield Trout Fishery virtually next door to us as well as the Tomich Lochs at the head of Strathglass, lying above the village. Enjoy stunning views and the chance to see red-throated divers, ospreys, and both golden and sea eagles.

There’s also good salmon fishing on the neighbouring River Alness which is widely considered to be the most beautiful river in the Highlands. A poll of sporting agents in the latest edition of the Scottish Sporting Gazette also puts the River Alness in the top 3 of small Scottish salmon rivers.
