Ben Wyvis National Nature Reserve

Approx 30.1 miles from the hotelvia A9 and A835.

The mountain Ben Wyvis is a local personality. Its flat ridge dominates the Easter Ross landscape. The hike to the summit rewards you with panoramic views across the Highlands. Dotterel and ptarmigan are found on the mossy summit plateau, and the plants here have adapted to the harsh conditions. Although a popular and relatively easy climb, Ben Wyvis should be treated with respect. The 6.5-kilometre route starts from the car park. The path goes through forestry, and then it heads up to An Cabar and along the summit ridge. The average time to the summit and back is 6 hours.
