Only the turfed footings remain of the medieval Hilton of Cadboll Chapel today. The site is best known for its fine Pictish cross-slab, which has had a fairly chequered history – erected in about 800 AD. The cross-slab depicts an extraordinary hunting scene, which is unusual in depicting a woman in the central position.
